The Bouquet That Steps Out

Materials needed:  red, white, blue, yellow Hearty Clay, color scale, assorted acrylic paints that will compliment your clay flowers, old shoe, gesso, coat hanger and a clay flower pot,  E600 glue, bamboo skewers, rhinestones and assorted embellishments for flowers

Directions:

1.    Use the color scale, and decide upon your color scheme for your bouquet.  (I used the pinks, oranges, lime green and blue.)  Make your clay, and free form your  flowers.  I just used crude flower shapes, a four petal triangle- shaped flower, and a 6 petal round shape.)

2.    I enhanced my flowers with acrylic paint washes.  Thin your acrylic paints with water, and brush on colors.

3.    Scout your closet, and look for an old open toed high heel.  If you don’t have any, hit the second-hand stores.

4.    Apply white gesso on the shoe to prepare it to accept acrylic paint.  Let dry.

5.    Paint your high heel with assorted acrylic paints.

6.    Paint your clay pot.

7.    Determine the circle size you need to accommodate your clay pot.  Bend a clothes hanger into this shape, making sure that you have a handle hanging down so you can glue this to the shoe.  Glue, and allow to completely dry.

8.    Paint bamboo skewers to match flowers.  Glue flowers to skewers.

9.    Place pot into holder you created, and design your flower arrangement.  I added some Styrofoam and Spanish moss.
